Honestly, I’m really excited about how far artificial intelligence has come, and I’m not equally blinded.
I’m not blinded by the fact that we are still far from developing AIs and that they have their shortcomings.
So, I hope you don’t buy into the idea that there is some sort of “complete AI” device or product out there.
Because there isn’t.
But there are really good “Narrow AI” devices/products that can perform well-defined tasks intelligently.
They operate in a way that on average human would genuinely say “Wow! That device is intelligent”.
These devices can perform specific tasks autonomously. They can clean the floor of your home/apartment, autonomously mow your lawn on your command and serve well as your personal assistants or robotic companion.
1. Apple Watch Series 5
The Apple Watch is arguably the best smart watch and its latest version (series 5) is a testament to that.
The smartwatch which integrated with iOS and other Apple products/services comes with health oriented functions and fitness tracking.
The Apple Watch is not dubbed smart for nothing.
Powered by artificial intelligence, the Apple Watch Series 5 can do a host of things which includes intelligent tracking, heartrate monitoring, ECG readings, Siri commands, warn about abnormal heart rates and does what a normal watch does, tell the time.
It is really difficult to detect irregular heartbeat, diabetes and signs of a stroke through a watch. But with artificial intelligence that’s what the Apple watch is capable of doing.
The Apple watch has helped saved a lot of lives on record.
In 2019, the Apple watch saved a man’s life by calling 911 after he falls from his bike, and another man’s life was saved when his Apple watch alerted him to deadly heart condition.
Apart from the health and fitness benefits of the Apple watch series 5, there are many other reasons why you should consider buying one for yourself or gift it to a loved one.

Amazon Echo (3rd Gen) is a smart speaker that comes with the world’s best AI-powered virtual assistants.
A smart speaker is a type of speaker that comes with an integrated virtual assistants that can perform interactive actions and activated hands-free.
There are other really good smart speakers that comes with unique AI-virtual assistants.
For example, the Google Home that’s integrated with Google Assistant and the Apple Homekit that’s integrated with Siri.
However, Amazon’s Alexa standouts as the best of the best. Its artificial intelligence is more advanced than its peers.
According to the Wirecutter, “Alexa is the voice-controlled Amazon assistant that turns words into action”.
The Echo powered by Alexa is capable of voice interactions, providing weather, sports and traffic information, making a to-do list, managing calendars and control several smart devices, among many other things.
Its AI is so advanced that it can guard your home by listening for signs of a break-in and if it hears anything suspicious, it will send you an alert.
Of course, for this to happen, you need to tell Alexa you are leaving by simply saying “Alexa, I’m leaving”. And when you arrive back, you can say “Alexa, I’m home” and it will stay off its guard.
The Amazon Echo (3rd generation) is the latest of the Amazon Echo product line, and there are other variants which all comes with Alexa.
There is the Amazon Echo Dot (a budget version) in case you are on a tight budget.
Therefore money shouldn’t be the reason why Alexa is not in your home.

iRobot Roomba S9+ is iRobot’s latest and most advanced Robotic vacuum cleaner.
Robotic vacuum cleaners are devices that uses artificial intelligence to autonomously clean without human control.
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is dubbed “the world’s best robot vacuum” by its maker; perhaps it deserves that tittle.
Roomba S9+ among other things is capable of self-emptying its bin, cleaning deep carpets, corners and edges neatly, and learns, map and adapt to its environment.

Temi Robot is an intelligent personal assistant robot for homes. Think of it as an Alexa on wheels: A mobile intelligent assistant.
Temi, as its popular called, is unique, it can do things smart speakers can’t and hence, even though CNET described it as “Alexa morphs into mobile droid form”, it’s far more than just that.
